As a private pilot I have flown Tomahawks, Warriors, and Cessnas, turned upside down in an RV-8 and hitched rides in Sea King and Merlin helicopters. I was once VERY lucky to be taken up in a twin-seat Lightning from RAF Binbrook.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuing my interest in aviation and space medicine, I obtained the Certificate in Aviation Medicine from RAF Farnborough in 1989, then the Diploma in Aviation Medicine from Kings&#8217; College London in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>I work as a freelance private consultant ophthalmologist, and an independent AME.
